The Electoral Commission has noted that some individuals and media houses are circulating a programme claiming that it is the approved electoral programme for the Administrative Units (LC 1 & 2) and Women Councils and Committees Elections, 2023.
This is to clarify that the Electoral Commission has not issued the said electoral programme.
The Commission has since established that the said electoral programme is indeed an internal working document (prototype) that was shared before approval.
This prototype programme was for purpose of discussing the proposed durations for the conduct of the said elections and is, therefore, not an approved electoral programme.
The Commission appeals to Political Parties and Organisations, aspiring candidates and their supporters, and all other stakeholders, to ignore that document and wait until such a time when the Commission will approve and formally release the electoral programme.
