Rescheduling of Polling Date for District Local Government Councils Elections in Butebo District: Tuesday, 17th February 2026

The Electoral Commission informs political parties, candidates, voters, and the general public that the polling date for the election of District Chairperson, District Directly Elected Councillors, and District Women Councillors in Butebo District has been rescheduled.

Accordingly, polling for the above election, which had been scheduled for Wednesday, 4^th February 2026, will now be conducted on Tuesday, 17^th February 2026.

For emphasis, on Tuesday 17^th February 2026, voters in Butebo District will cast vote for the following Local Government elective positions:

1. District Chairperson;
2. Directly Elected District Councillors;
3. District Women Councillors;

Voting shall be by universal adult suffrage, and shall take place at all polling stations in Butebo District, beginning at 7:00am till 4:00pm.

Thereafter, counting of votes and declaration of results shall take place.

The Electoral Commission calls upon all stakeholders and voters in Butebo District to participate peacefully and to observe the electoral laws and guidelines.
