The Electoral Commission has released the programme for conducting the by-election of Chairperson, Hoima District.

During the electoral programme, the Commission will also fill the position of Sub County Councillor for Katereiga Parish, Buhanika Sub County and the Sub County Male Councillor representing Older Persons for Kabaale Sub County, Hoima District.

The Electoral Commission has declared twelve (12) candidates duly nominated to contest in Local Government Council by–elections in Bukedea District.

The nomination exercise commenced on Monday 5^th June and closed on Tuesday 6^th at the Office of the District Election Administrator, Bukedea, and was presided over by the District Returning Officer, Hajj Suleiman Kato.

The Electoral Commission has released the programme for conducting the by-election of Chairperson, Bukedea District.

During the electoral programme, the Commission will also fill positions of Councillors in Local Government Councils in the district where vacancies exist.

The by–election programme will commence with an update of the National Voters’ Register from Monday 8^th to Friday 12^th May 2023 at update stations in each of the one hundred and fifty-two (152) parishes and wards in Bukedea District.

The Electoral Commission has noted a fictitious vacancy announcement circulating on various social media platforms calling for applications to fill positions within its structure on temporary basis (ad-hoc staff).

The Commission would like to inform and warn the general public that this is a fake job announcement designed and placed by fraudulent persons with the intention of misleading and extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public.
