03/03/2016 Elections for Councilors for Special Interest Groups to District Local Gov't Councils and KCCA

01/03/2016: Election of Female Youth Representative to Parliament

The Electoral Commission has appointed 6th – 7th March 2016, as the period for convening the National Youth Council (NYC) for the purpose of election of the Female Youth Representative to Parliament.

The national meeting shall be held at Kontik Hotel in Hoima Municipality.

Polling Date for Chairpersons and Councillors for Municipalities and Kampala Capital City Divisions, Wednesday, 2nd March 2016

The Electoral Commission informs candidates, voters and the general public that elections for Chairpersons and Councillors for the Municipalities and Kampala Capital City Divisions will be held on Wednesday 2nd March 2016.

Polling shall take place at all polling stations within all municipalities in Uganda, and the five (5) divisions of Kampala Capital City, starting at 7:00am and closing at 4:00pm.

24/02/2016 Suspension of Election of District Councillor for Makindye III (KCCA)

Suspension of Polling Activities for the Election of District/City Directly Elected Councillor for Makindye III Electoral Area, Kampala Capital City

The Electoral Commission, in accordance with Section 50 of the Electoral Commission Act, CAP 140, informs candidates, their agents and voters in Makindye III Electoral Area, Kampala Capital City, that polling for the election of the District/City Directly Elected Councillor has been suspended.

The suspension has been made as a result of non-inclusion of one of the nominated candidates on the ballot paper.

24/02/2016 Suspension of Elections of District Chairperson for Kyankwanzi District

The Electoral Commission hereby informs candidates, their agents, voters and the general public in Kyankwanzi District

that the polling process for purposes of the District Chairperson scheduled for today, Wednesday, 24th February, 2016, has been suspended.

The suspension has been made as a result of misallocation of candidates’ symbols during the printing of ballot papers.

Please note that the suspension does not affect the elections for Directly-elected Councilor and Women Councilor to the District Local Government Council.
